Sales Transformation

As a Business Development Director or a Managing Director, my approach is to lead – I think strategically and have experience of developing organisations through organic growth, mergers and acquisition. You can see from some of my testimonials that I have strong people management skills and ‘lead from the front’.

Bundled into the role of Business Development Director and Managing Director are the principles of effective change management – we cannot achieve our corporate goals unless our people are ‘on board’. To this end, I have led activity focusing on a wide range of people and organizational change aspects within business change programmes. Examples include:

Corporate Strategy – for example, led the re-invention of a business into being a hybrid management consultancy – included articulating Values and associated communications plans, developing and implementing new processes, new branding, new culture. The new organization reflected massively increased revenue streams.

Roll-out of new technology – worked with several businesses where new technology has come into play – including the advent of email; introduction of CRM (as well as replacement of disparate CRM solutions with one new one); introduction of pipeline management tools (MS Excel-based and then using such tools as Sugar CRM) – enabling ‘reluctant users’ to embrace the new technologies.

New processes – involved in BS5750 and ISO9001 since 1993. Developed cultures of continuous improvement and change – either as BDD, MD or NED. This has included leading the development of new processes and toolkits to enable business growth (workshops, mentoring, performance management).

New culture – business will always have ‘new cultures’ as different business leaders join (and leave). Culture change without consultation can cause conflict – I am inclusive in the evolution of a business but change management is still needed – this has been ‘light-touch’ as well as a huge issue to address within a global Plc.

Organizational Change – to support corporate strategies, operational strategy tends to look to how it is organized – and how best to deliver the goals. I have carried out Organizational Reviews (OR) and Organizational Design (OD) since 1996.
