Internal Resonance Audit.
An Internal Resonance Audit examines how your organisation really works on the inside – the social architecture of artefacts, networks and language – and maps it onto the Six Spectra and 12 Beacons of the Resonance Framework.
It shows where your stated culture resonates with lived reality, and where it does not. The result is a structured, evidence-led review that reveals where the system amplifies the culture you want, and where it pulls against it.
What we look at
Artefacts & Design
We review the tangible elements that quietly tell people “how things are really done here” – from board papers and risk reports to performance frameworks, incentives and workflows. The question is whether these artefacts support or undermine the culture your board says it wants.
Social Architecture
We examine formal and informal networks: decision paths, escalation routes, influence hubs and bottlenecks. This maps the architecture beneath the org chart – who actually makes things happen, where decisions get stuck, and how quickly signals travel.
Language Audit
We analyse how the organisation talks to itself: leadership messages, internal communications and recurring phrases. Language patterns reveal what is celebrated, tolerated and avoided – often in sharp contrast to official values statements.
Mapping Resonance.
All of this material is mapped onto the Six Spectra and 12 Beacons of the Resonance Framework:
- The Six Spectra position key parts of the organisation along behavioural dimensions that shape culture under normal conditions and under stress.
- The 12 Beacons highlight specific strengths, risks and leverage points – areas where relatively small changes in artefacts, networks or language can produce outsized shifts in behaviour.
Clients see a visual, board‑grade view of their internal resonance: where stated culture and lived culture are aligned, where there is dissonance, and where dissonance is beginning to crystallise into risk.
What leaders get.
An Internal Resonance Audit equips boards, executives and oversight functions with:
- A realistic map of the system – how governance, incentives, workflows and networks actually combine to produce behaviour.
- Clear resonance and dissonance zones – areas where the social architecture supports the desired culture, and areas where it pushes in a different direction.
- Targeted options – specific artefacts to redesign, network patterns to strengthen, and language shifts that will make the greatest difference.
- A baseline for tracking change – positions on the Six Spectra that can be revisited over time to verify progress.
Where the audit is used.
Board Assurance
When a board wants to test whether a new strategy, purpose or culture statement is actually shaping behaviour, or is just words on a wall.
Regulatory Evidence
When regulators or investors are asking for evidence of culture and governance beyond survey scores and incident data.
Major Transitions
Organisations preparing for or recovering from major events: restructurings, investigations, remediation, rapid growth or post-deal integration.
The Internal Resonance Audit can be delivered as a standalone engagement or combined with Discrete Culture Signals and Culture Due Diligence. Where governance and operating-model issues are identified, we work through Governance, Policy & Operating Model Alignment to embed the new architecture.”
